The Power of Ten

It has been a natural progression for us to move up to the Heidelberg Speedmaster B2 10 colour press. The press is a 10 colour ‘perfector’ which means that we can print up to 5 colours on both sides of the sheet in one pass, at up to some 15,000 sheets per hour.

As well as dramatically speeding up job turnaround times this will also enable us to compete more favourably on higher volume print jobs and increase our production capacity by around 35%.

The press is extensively automated through a central computer control system and enables the operator to control the entire press at the touch of a finger. This makes the press equally suited to both short and long run jobs alike.

With the recent installation of our new ‘chemical free’ plate making system, featured in the last edition of Impressions, we can now supply all four of our presses far more quickly and effi ciently than before, not to mention with a far more environmentally friendly carbon footprint.
