Here at Banbury Litho, we are dedicated to continually improving our service and products. 

This guide has been designed to assist you in creating PDF files to our specifications, thus ensuring that your print project flows smoothly through our Studio, reducing potential delays in your printing schedule. Acceptable formats

When creating a PDF file from professional publishing software the following points should be followed:

  • All fonts to be embedded into the PDF
  • For 4‑colour work all images and graphics to be in CMYK only and be high resolution
  • For spot colour work all images and graphics to be the same spot colour (not 4‑colour or RGB) and be in high resolution
  • PDFs to have crop marks that are true to the size of the finished product
  • PDFs to have 3mm bleed
  • PDFs to be single pages, or if spreads are three pages or more then printers spreads are required
  • Black text to be black only
  • Please do not add any colour bars or registration marks
  • Composite PDFs are required for colour work

InDe­sign PDF Preset

To help you achieve these require­ments, we have sup­plied the fol­low­ing PDF Pre­set for InDe­sign which will allow you to choose​‘Ban­bury Litho InDe­sign’ when export­ing to PDF.

Quark Out­put Style

To help you achieve these require­ments, we have sup­plied the fol­low­ing Out­put Style for Quark which will allow you to choose​‘Ban­bury Litho Quark’ when export­ing to PDF.

Oth­er Considerations

When your job includes one of the spe­cial inks or fin­ish­es below, please fol­low these instructions:

White Ink

If your project includes white ink printed on our Lino digital press, all the elements that print white, need to be coloured as a spot colour named ‘White’. Please do not simulate the colour of the stock in the artwork.

Clear Ink

If your project includes clear ink printed on our Lino digital press, all the elements that print clear need to be coloured as a spot colour named ‘Clear’. Please do not simulate the colour of the stock in the artwork.

Kiss Cut

If your project includes kiss cutting on our Mutoh Valuecut, all shapes that are to be kiss cut need to be coloured as a spot colour named ‘CutContour’.
